Syllabus Notes

  • This course builds on CHM 203
  • The main goals are to build basic chemical knowledge
  • Catching up is impossible in Summer General Chemistry II
  • 2 hours a day minimum is best
  • This is a self-paced course
    • Still be actively engaged daily
  • You have to be engaged with the video
  • Each chapter has a learning objective packet that is distributed with it
  • Exam questions come from the learning objectives
  • Each packet has key equations
  • All problems that are in the videos are in the packet
  • Homework from the packets is not collected, but it is the single most important thing you can do for the exam
  • Lecture videos typically last 30–50 minutes
  • Each assignment on Knewton takes 10–30 minutes to complete
  • Each chapter has 1 unit of material, except for the last exam, which covers 2 unites of material.
  • Notify Dr. Villa in advance for any potential exam misses
